La Vie à l’Étranger

The Life Abroad

Dreaming About Moving Abroad?

If you’ve been dreaming about moving abroad — or even if you’ve only recently contemplated it — then I highly recommend The Move Abroad Coach’s Escape Plan Bootcamp.

The Escape Plan Bootcamp is what started me on my journey, and it helped me realize that moving abroad was possible sooner rather than later.

Great news — the next Escape Plan Bootcamp starts February 23rd! Use my affiliate link to sign up now:

What I Loved About the Bootcamp

1. Richelle’s (@moveabroadcoach ) energy and experience — she’s been there, done that, has lived abroad in multiple countries and is still living abroad. Her enthusiasm and passion are infectious, and she’s a wonderful coach who encourages and inspires.

2. Gaining a clear vision of what I wanted my life to be like — it’s not about running away or simply finding the right destination country and then getting yourself there. You need something to run TOWARD, a life that you are building. This is where the Bootcamp starts, and it is essential to everything that follows.

3. The people and community — meeting the awesome coaches, alumni, and participants along the way. The community is incredibly supportive, and it was amazing knowing I wasn’t doing this alone. And I made new friends, several of whom I’ve already met with IRL while abroad!

4. The price — $37. Seriously. It was less than half of what I was about to pay for a two-hour “move abroad” class at the community education branch of my local junior college. $37 for four days of amazing content instead? Yes please. And it was worth every penny.

5. The content — all of it. I would have been so lost without it!

Welcome to Keen on France, where I talk about la vie à l’étranger!

Hey there! I’m Carissa Kuehn, and I’m so glad you are here. I’m a former high school science educator who, after 19 years of teaching, decided to move abroad to France and pursue a different dream—one in which I was the boss and 100% in charge of my life, my time, and my schedule. Together with my German shepherd dog, Hadyn, I left the U.S. and moved to the Alsace region of France in the fall of 2025. Between learning French, adjusting to life in a new country, and building my freelance wine writing business Toujours Vin Curieux, I also share about my life abroad—ma vie à l’étranger—here at (Always) Keen on France.

I hope you stay a while and explore! Here are a few links to get you started:
